    I confirmed this with Adobe that it’s a loophole. At $199, they’re still making some good money… and making us loophole-users happy by saving a hundred bucks.

    When you convert from CCIR to DV the fields get “mushed” together unless you do a CCIR to DV transcoding. Final Cut Pro 4.5 asks you if you want to transcode only during a single clip’s export. As far as I’ve seen, you cannot batch export AND correctly transcode multiple clips.

    I would like to know if there is a way to do a multiple clip export/transcode while maintaining all timecode and etc. This would be a huge timesaver.

    (The reason we do this is we digitize uncompressed 720×486 from a beta deck through component lines and convert the footage to DV for our other non-uncompressed workstation to edit with.)
