Thank you for the great advice.

I have a 25fps Interlaced export ready, but playback on my iMac is choppy with interlaced field lines. I suppose my question is, if I send this through, will the lines be removed once it is broadcast?

Premieres pretty great for finding missing files and reattaching them. My advice is get the footage into one folder on the drive, open up your project and a dialogue window will pop up, giving you a number of options to find the missing files.

Send the individual clips (right click) or sequence to Audition. Check out Noise Reduction Process.

It’s an ace feature but use sparingly otherwise you’ll give your audio an underwater effect.

  • The key to an efficient Post workflow is to come into the edit with as much organisation as possible. When I step into the edit suite I want my creative juices to flow and having to sift through dud takes is counter-intuitive.

Obviously with low budge productions it’s not always easy to have shot lists/edit sheets available but if you can get into the habit of having these documents prepared yourself or by a crew member you’ll find your Post ebb and flow to be much slicker.

As long as the sequence settings and source footage match there will be no noticeable deteriotation in quality.

Depending on how precious your cuts are I would get into the habit of exporting mastered (uncompressed) versions to combat this issue down the line.
