And what is the point of this exercise? That every single film that people shoot on the cheap is going to be a Clerks, Blair Witch (eww), or Pi? No, those are the exceptions. The rule is, they are crap.

And you aren’t spending twenty bucks on them either.

But more often than not, you still need financial backing. The high cost of entry to narrative filmmaking isn’t necessarily the gear…it’s paying the people to help subsist the areas of talent that you lack.

Not everyone can fill every position adequately, and without paying people you run a high risk of losing crew to the point where your project is never finished.

No you can’t. Because these people spend all their money on the camera, and nothing on lights, sound, art direction, ect., and what you end up with is two losers spouting pothead philosophy (that you can barely hear) on their ratty couch in front of a bare white wall.

And people aren’t buying these movies. They are still buying the Pacific Rims, Hobbits, and 80s action films.

It’s like the cheaper E-series P2 card media that had people worried about the lifespan. It was only rated for 5-years…if you filled it up and erased it every single day for those 5 years.

I got the 1TB SSD in my nMBPr, and I use it as a media drive. I also have AppleCare.

But if Adobe is indentured slavery and monopoly and feudal lordship, why should they? Shouldn’t you pirate it and strike a blow for freedom?

Yes, you can pirate those CC apps…which I guess mean’s that they are heroic patriots of the human race, right? I mean, if Adobe is slavery, indentured servitude, Feudal lordery, or whatever nonsense is the current flavor of the day, then those pirating those apps should be seen as nothing less than heroic figures in the fight for consumer freedom, no?

I wouldn’t refer to it as the “GH4″…from all I have seen, it is simply the GH3 with the video mode upgraded to record 4K 8-bit 4:2:0 AVCHD (or whatever Panasonic will call it since 4K is not in the spec). It supposedly will not be replacing the GH3, but instead will be a different model of the same camera.

Of course, all this could change depending on when the actual specs come out, but rumored specs don’t seem to be any different internally (especially on the photoside) than the GH3.
