[Jim Wiseman] “who want to stay on MacPro’s and not move to Windows (I for one never will).”

I’d be ready to eat those words if I were you.

I agree with the idea here, but just to round this off at the pass before certain individuals pick up on it and try to use it as some sort of proof of their “forward-thinkingness”:

I picked up a phrase some time ago that I think applies: “The next big thing is always beneath contempt.”

does not automatically mean that FCPX is going to become the standard within the next couple of years. Sometimes, things simply stay contemptible.

    Carry on.

Adobe really dropped the ball here. They should have been as forward thinking as Apple was in releasing their apps on the App Store, so that they could follow a quick patching schedule like FCPX. And what’s up with the file size here? I can’t believe I can just update the components themselves instead of having to re-download the entire program all over again. That’s just poor implementation in my opinion.

[Craig Seeman] ” I still hold that doesn’t mean “power” is going away.

How can you not? If you are unable to get a dual 12-core Xeon Ivy Bridge system with 32GB+ of RAM from Apple when such a combination certainly exists in other ecosystems, then how can you maintain that?

  • [Shane Ross] “This is what happens when my laptop is unusable. Stupid iPhone.”

Is it sad that I could tell it was specifically autocorrect that was responsible for that post, and not just you being drunk or something?

  • [Shane Ross] “Nope. You can write those and. Of need their permission. In fact, they want his to be done. So more people will lead. To use their software.”

Using a mobile device to post, eh? :-p

I always back up my project files regardless of any NLE. Haven’t had any corruption in a long time, but have in my past and it’s not fun.

[Steve Connor] “It was a very enjoyable if not slightly nerve wracking experience, when I get time I’ll write an article!”

Nerve wracking in working with FCPX or just editing the movie in general?

[Bret Williams] “Can you call yourself a serious audio guy running asystem that only reads AVIs? Who needs an AVI? since 1993 I’ve needed an AVI once, and I think that was 1993.”

Don’t you mean “professional”? Hmmmmmmmmmmm?!?! 😉

[Chris Harlan] “Its got to be one of these three:

    A) Shane being aggressive,”

Well, clearly, because Shane didn’t apologize multiple times through his post for daring to point out his opinion of “flaws” in Marcus’ well-thought-out test.

It was a total flame war!
