That is not a reality check. The simple truth of the matter is that if whoever made that hiring decision knew of me and my work instead of this person, I would have been the one to go.
Simple as that.
There’s nothing special about this video at all. Nothing I couldn’t have handled either. The only reason is because I wasn’t even in contention, and that has nothing to do with 5Ds or FCPX or Retina displays or any of that gadgety-goodness b.s. That’s networking, plain and simple.

Actually, I’m not sure how well that mount is going to work for anything other than the Voigtlander lenses. It’s a dumb mount, meaning you won’t be able to change aperture on those Panasonic lenses.

Yes, unless you want to run some Apple-centric hardware, there’s no reason to be tied into one platform vs another.

Many of whom prefer to edit off a laptop, and the article still points out that Apple laptops are second to none, so I fail to see how this will be much of an influence in the long run.

This is why I don’t think it’s terrible exciting now, but if U.S. internet connections get a overhaul for upload speed to where its feasible to upload footage to the cloud, it could be a great boon if merged with Adobe Creative Cloud using some fast hardware on their end to stream it back.

Much easier to get a project back into FCP7 (provided you’re dealing with QuickTime re-wraps of course) from Premiere than from FCPX into FCP7.
