If you look at your tape a little closer it is more than one frame. It is 20 + frames. My editing is frame accurate, we do not estimate. No it doesn’t hamper work flow as long as you edit every single clip. BUT, after 25 years in business and giving the clients a window dub from this camera, they are now concerned about the audio dropout from a defective camera. I don’t know about your clients but mine are used to getting better than this. I don’t think you would buy a car with a broken radio because it still drives and doesn’t affect the ride or flow.
My clients are as picky as I am and that may have some bearing of being in business for so long and turning away 20%+ of the business coming in.
Further more if you read the thread, that 20+ frames is now about 90+ frames when using the JVC approved firestore. -
Is it true that the JVC HDV deck only records through IEEE and (sadly) S-VHS ? That’s all I can get out of all the specs on the JVC site. My component studio is rendered not compatible since Component is a better signal than IEEE.
On another issue, the Firestore has a 2gb file size limit(FAT 32) so you will get audio dropouts at about every 13 minutes.
So if you are shooting an important speech like the Governor of Mayor, you need to have your subject pause every 13 minutes or so in order get the whole speech. Solutions are welcome!! A laptop is a solution but you can’t mount it to the side of the camera for ENG. Bottom line , after investing a lot of money in the Firestore recommended for the JVC HD200 I realize that tapeless with JVC is not working. I’ve invested over $80,000 on JVC in the past but can’t seem to get it right not to mention the audio dropouts at the end of every HD clip I record with the HD-200. -

I wonder if they will fix the cmaeras I and everyone else already and sadly invested in? -
Actually I am missing 1 second but as I said “Professionally when you give a client a copy of raw for timecode logging you shouldn’t have to edit out the audio dropouts before hand”
I have 2 of the JVC 200s and they both do it . Also the demo camera Ken Freed had also dropped the audio.

WoW! The same thing happens to me too. 1Beyond, who built the system can’t get it working right either. I’f spent hours with Matrox on the phone trying to figure it out too. Coming to find out , it is not my system and is a problem with ?? They all trry to blame adobe but where is the resolve?
I can’t output to tape and lose the ability to do this systematically.
Any Suggestions since I can’t use a major function within Adobe Premiere Pro with the Matrox?
