I am having issues exporting the rendered video back to tape after converting back to HD. I select export to tape and when the movie converts to HD and begins to record back onto the tape I get glitches in the film where the movie seems to stall for a fraction of a second and then continues to record onto the tape. This will generally happen several times throughout this 27 min. movie. I have had success exporting with previous movies, but this one will not record without a glitch. I am recording back to my Sony HDR-HC7 camera.

this could be a throughput issue. I would check to verify that you are pulling the video off of your fastest drive, and make sure there are no other programs that could even possibly try to utilize the firewire.

I would also make sure there are no unecessary processes running in the background.

WoW! The same thing happens to me too. 1Beyond, who built the system can’t get it working right either. I’f spent hours with Matrox on the phone trying to figure it out too. Coming to find out , it is not my system and is a problem with ?? They all trry to blame adobe but where is the resolve?
I can’t output to tape and lose the ability to do this systematically.
Any Suggestions since I can’t use a major function within Adobe Premiere Pro with the Matrox?

I can’t figure it out at all. I’ve been successful exporting two previous movies to tape without this problem. I haven’t changed anything. I took the advice of Mr. McWilson, who offered a suggestion, but that didn’t work. I shut all other processes off, including internet and virus protection with the same result. I’m hoping that someone out there has the solution.

Another option is to delete your preview files then render again. It may take a while but I have had this problem before and it was solved by doing this.

I deleted the preview files and tried to export back to video with the same results. Just a couple of small glitches…It’s very frustrating and time consuming. I just can’t figure it out. I don’t know if its the camera, which is less than a year old and not overused, the computer, which is pretty suped up, or the program. The kicker is that I’ve successfully exported two previous movies with minor problems. Any other ideas. Thanks.

Robert, Did you solve your export to tape problem? I hope so because it’s happening to me. When I export back to my Sony HDR-HC3, it glitches consistently every 8 minutes, give or take a few seconds. I thought it was the auto-save but that’s set at every 20 minutes. My project is 35 minutes long so I’ve got 4 pretty good glitches. Otherwise, the HD video is pristine. Help! Thanks.

I never did figure it out. I think that it was narrowed down to a computer problem. Not being able to buffer quickly enough. I am awaiting a new computer which I desparately hope will solve the problem.

Thanks anyway. Guess it’ll have to go High Def w/glitches. I like PP2 but I think Avid and Mac are calling my name.
