I found what I needed in another Avid app.

Fixed. I made a new user account in Win XP. I still would like to know where and what file in my old suer account is holding that config setting that messed me up.

Also check out the DI Handbook by Steve Shaw and Quantel. google it or it may be on the Qunatel site. There is good info explaining the differences between log and lin and our eyes.

Project was shot with Sony F900 to HDcamSR deck as 422. We captured as HD 422 and edited, CC and so on. Nothing here about SD and letterbox, anamorphic. Just a request to deliver 16×9 full frame and another 1.77 both on HDcam tapes. Mee thinx thay konfuzed.

Not sure. I was only asked by my boss if there was a difference. I said they are the same and he replied that we were asked to make two deliverables as 16×9 full frame and another as 1.77. He will get back to the person asking for the two versions. 🙂

That’s what I thought. We were asked to make two versions (by a major film company). Must have been an intern filling in today. 🙂

They did not know why or how to fix it. We were heading towards a reformat and then see what happens after that. I had to stop the backup because it still had two FW drives with another 4 hours to copy and we need to catch up on work that stopped yesterday. Which was making HDcam SR master tapes and I cannot afford to have the copy process interfere with possible dropped frames. Worst case, I could try and pick up from where we left off on the copy process to FW drives.

A coworker found a program called Mac Pilot that allowed us to unlock the RAID permissions. I am happy because I was just about ready to reformat the whole RAID after backing up 4TB all night long to FW drives.

Jeremy,
I Just spoke with Victor at Ciprico and we are looking in to it all. My comment I made earlier about not having any support was made on second hand information. I was misinformed about who called who by another person.

Yes, I now have Leopard installed. Nothing changes permissions on just that raid. I tried Terminal routines, etc. Never seen this before. I would bet the editor had a power outage and was not o UPS and the file structure became corrupt. I just started working here last month and i have been trying to clean up problems they have. I now have him on a UPS.
Thanx for your input.Gary Gowman-Video Director
