I got the email today from avid.

I own an Avid xpress pro HD (I won it in a film festival) so for sure I’ll upgrade for $ 495 to MC.

I have a Dell Precision M90 with Intel Core 2 CPU T7600 @ 2.33GHz with a 512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500M graphics card and 2 gigs of ram. Works fine for Combustion and Avid xpress pro.

About the FX I don’t care because I use Combustion for titles, compositing, keying, etc.

About power… how much do I need? I have a laptop with Intel Core 2 CPU T7600 @ 2.33GHz with a 512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 3500M graphics card. Do you think it can handle it?

My question is in different forums because there are several question about Avid, combustion and the plastic wedding cameras everybody is using like HVX 200 and EX1.

I only know about Arri 535, 435, 235, Pana platinum etc and compositing.

I’m doing my research. Thanks.

I saw the test of the HVX vs EX1 and for sure the sony looks much better.

I will have a great DOP so that’s the challenge, make something looks great with a prosumer cam.

Do have any of your jobs with green screen online so I can see it?
