[Robert Houllahan] “There is the EVGA dual board that would potentially be a screamer as a PC but as far as I know nobody has done a Mac OSX build on it…

    https://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=270-WS-W555-A2&family=Motherbo...”

Robert that EVGA have “bad” PCIe specs …. the ASUS WS supercomputer have 7 line 16x speed 9and i believe is still the only one ….
But is missing USB3 …(and only 1 CPU)

    Nice One Mike (as always)
    thanks

(i always used the RGB offset to “normalize” the WB…)

ps:what do you mean by “wrong Lut “? couldn’t you re-apply lut ?
or maybe was backed-In on a QT export maybe …

sometimes on alexa when i have the Log C image looks worm and nice , but applying a LogCtoVideo +709 matrix (the WB gets weird (blue/green) ,

i had this experience even yesterday ,the lut i applied was created on the Alexa website (so one of the latest ) , and the Lut that came with resolve game me basically the same results …

so isn’t the WB on the alexa something that the Lut does not (wrongly) influence ?

    thanks

[Robbie Carman] “At the end of the day I gave up. Our current workflow is HD-SDI output from Resolve/FCP through Harris DL860 > Ki Pro for recording to ProRes. “

    Hi robbie:
one question : The harris DL860 : does it check (QC) the image also in terms of glitches or or stutters etc.. ?

or just luma and chroma level ?

    thanks

    Paul:
Redlaser projector is not even announced at all , i am not sure that will be released soon (i have the feeling is like REDRAY), unless november the 3rd will be about that as well

currently , without the deckling 4K , no 4K out of resolve ..

I am wondering how many GPUs is needed for a 4K project , as i said i have 3 and still not enough …

I guess that in widows having 7PCIe @ 16x speed , would be possible to have like 2 Cubix Desktop 4 to have 8 GPUs….

    thanks

October 24, 2011 at 1:51 pm in reply to: Remove stuttering from 30fps pull-down to 25fps

    hi Ola,
shot at 30 and supposed to be 25 ??

that is quite a mistake ..

if the 30fps has been shot as 23.98+pulldown : you can remove the pulldown to bring it back to 23.98 (using cine tools (if the codec is allowed ) ,
than conform it to 25fps (still in cinema tools )

be aware that while the pulldown removal will not change the timing of the clip ,
the second one will , the clip will playback 4% faster (so will be out f sync (also the TC will change ..)

PS:resolve have tools only to add 3:2 on the fly on the SDI as far as i know …(or to remove 3:3 on the fly on the SDI)

i also like a lot the way he matched Alexa and Film on transformers 3 (was Red involved as well ?)

i asked because i have been told that at CO3 , stefan sonnenfeld use the 2K a lot for features (they told me that for example he used it for Pirates of the carabbean 4 …

no clue if is true , but i figure …if he does …there must be a reason….
