    we discussed this many times

i agree , something is not working , and while the BM team will figure it out ,
i believe a settings to disable the automatic conform should be added on the config page

Yes ,that actually why I was asking …
Even in scratch playback can have tearing if used the DVI/HDMI …especially if there is audio involved …

    But hey…it’s better than nothing

    gustavo :

but that would be as 60Hz “computer signal ” right ?

    not a SMPTE 23.98 signal ?

any screen tearing playback issue ? Audio ?

    thanks

    mmmmmmm….

so until NAB no new features will come i guess … i understand that windows i a big thing … but the software it’s the same since june (V8 Beta cycle ) … even the Red SDK did not get updated (which has been in other softwares )…

hope that we have not to wait until NAB , and than 2 months more to get new features or GUI improvements … (sorry if sounds a bit ungrateful , but i am an OSX user , so unless windows will offer a gigantic new power (Aka possibility to grade in 4K using 4K output ) i am interested only on OSX ( with my cubix on a mac i get 15 nodes with Blur on Red4K @ Full res (HD project) ,and i am happy with that )

    just my 2 cents

January 12, 2012 at 4:16 am in reply to: Color Accuracy of DaVinci GUI Viewer

    thanks rohit,

but there is something going on Here …i believe is associated how OSX works :

I do use Scaled on my SDI and the image in the viewer of resolve is the same of the image on my SDI (video Range Wise (for sure does not look full range)

I use Scratch As Well : Scratch have a full Range GUI monitor as well BUT :

On Scratch on windows i can totally say that the image in the GUI viewer is full range (and my SDI is scaled ( in the GUI viewer blacks are crushed and highlight are clipped )
On scratch on Mac the Gui viewer match the image on the SDI (still SDI scaled )

so if rohit say that the GUI viewer is full range i believe , but i can Assure that somehow the image in the viewer is actually scaled …

i would like actually to have an official answer on this by BMD,

GUI monitor can be calibrated even building a 3D lut using light space , and knowing that the GUI of resolve does actually treat color in a proper way , can be very useful in particular condition (like on set color work)

dimitrios …maybe you not ware of the fact the resolve at the moment does not even render out the INCamera Audio …

so i would ask that as first thing…which off course i beg for …

easily sync up audio for dailies is a completely different task that kind of “”redesign”” all the editing tools of resolve (SCARTCH IS perfect for that dailies need)

i believe that asking all that comes in our mind …will not produce that many useful results … on the other end , one step at the time towards a direction i believe is more realizing and might happen …

    that,
is something that I am keep asking since February last year, Red settings version independent ,
I hope that many many people here I’ll second this because apparently BMD never believe that is a super useful thing : Red s all about the settings of the SDK as starting point ,and to explore different look those setting (gamma curves ,color matrix ) have to change …
