I should also mention, I can convert the file in QuicktimePro and then open it in AE — but it is “fuzzy”

Revised memory as described but AE still would not open the 3.55 gb file?

Given I was on deadline my workaround was to break the animation into four parts?

Thank you for the followup….

The file format is .img and I AE opens them with no problem.

But it won’t open the 3.55 gb file.

I’ve allocate 21 of my 24 gb ram to AE — still won’t open it??

– Along these lines have you experience AE unable to open a large file — I couldn’t open a 3.55 gb file
