To light the actor would you recommend another of the same light or something else? Sorry for the novice question… 🙂

  • Hi Everyone,

So I went ahead and tested all the codecs available to me from Final Cut Pro. Here are my results:

    Hi Everyone,

So I have success! It turns out that installing Perian also allowed me to import AVI into FCP… so there wasnt a need afterall to export it into something from Quicktime. Very pleased. Then I was able to render, edit and export it again and my final file was small and looked close to the original in quality.

    Thanks very much!!!

    Hi,

The size of the original is 720 x 576.
The frame rate of the original is 25.

As far is my FCP set up… DV-NSTC but my final output will be a Quicktime .Mov

To be specific I will edit a little then export the .mov to import into Cubase SX this way when I perform live (music performance) the video will play in sync behind me.

Thanks a lot to everyone helping me… the show is this Saturday night!

Ok… by exporting from Quicktime in .mp4 I was able to open it in FCP!!! Now the quality is low… anyone have any advice on how to match the quality and size of the original?

    Thanks thanks!

    Hi Guys,

We are getting somewhere I think… I installed Perian and now Quicktime plays the file! What format should I export it as so FCP will be able to read it? I tried exporting it to .mov but it didnt work… it did the export, then the file was called sample.mov and opened in Quicktime but when I tried to import it into FCP it have me a File Error… any ideas here?

    Again… thanks thanks!!!

    Hi Everyone,

I’m still struggling to do this. I don’t own compressor and even if I wanted to upgrade I would need to order it and have it sent to me (because I am in Germany now)… and considering nothing else has worked I’m reluctant to spend the $200.

Strangely I even tried SnapzPro to record the video window but it came out all mangled… why?

I really want to have this AVI converted to something I can edit and use.

    Thanks again for any advice!

    Hi Everyone,

The file will not play in Quicktime… it is 44.1MB.

I tried opening it with MPEG Streamclip and it only plays the audio.

It does play fine in VLC.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks so much.
