Sorry to be so hard on you Gary, rather it would be nice if someone else had something helpful. I`d be editing an Alexa or previous model before I`d buy one. The manufacturers should sell their products at several tiers much though switching on a booster Xeon right into the backup is a terribly good idea. Better than having an unadjustable render farm become even more unevenly used when it`s time to backup or restore. Tape backup has returned as the way to go.

“I am recommending that people look at Cache-A system for simple, easy to use LTO.”
I`m sure that buying a unit with a Xeon booster computer permanently biting it`s fangs into the LTO`s rear end is all of the above but for those of us that have already built the computers it`s nice to buy just pairs of the needed drives. That isn`t $9,600 , and for only one drive. -
Simon, Log c footage made at 245 megabytes per second or more for typical height to width aspect ratios and resolutions is not the sort of data convenient for anyone to send over the internet. Although there are D21 Forums, Alexa Forums, RAVE Forums, etc. it`s the same answer. Please include a mailing address in your asking so someone can mail you a DVD, tape, or such. (-of well exposed memory color scenes, good and silent audio, interspersed with color bars and test tones, and typical metadata, guys). It`s easier sweat on our foreheads to see requests thought out to not be impossible.

hi is it possible to access any raw logc footage? thanks -
John Heagy, thanks to Microsoft`s insanity to toss it`s defective ingrammes (ingrammes? ingrahams?) from Office 2007 to browsers, internet portals, and Hotmail/Live quite lately, yours and others e- mails from your Hotmail e- mail to mine are relabeled “Conversation” and don`t go through. Please try my ka2pyq [aaaat] yahoo [dot] com e- mail, and preferrably from a non- Hotmail send, thanks. Isn`t UDF formatting that horrible security format found on the Microsoft Vista install DVD? … lest us video gatherers (makers) need protection from ourselves-

Fortunately the cards can be Mac- formatted but I thought I`d remind you guys that FAT16 is 2 GB volumes and FAT32 is 128 GB volumes. I hope I have a day free enough to go to Creatasphere. John, I`ll be waiting for your e- mail. Fred

John, if the cards are already formatted nicely but with bum identical file-names then just rename them on a side computer in batches before you give them to your cameraman. If they`re formatted badly such as formatted in the annoying slowing uselessly security enriched NTFS format then format them in a type that`s good to use like HPS+?, FAT32, HPFS? and with your pet file-names pencilled on their label. To reuse them you use the other side of the pencil. When using videotape I found I had no problem seeing Black Sharpee pen ink written on black tape. Likewise with 3-1/2 inch floppies which probably have plastic cases like your cards, I don`t know, pencil might write onto and erase from the plasic OK if needed. I`m not trying to bully Garchow and gang out of the topic though. It looks like there`s plenty of good advice. (I just hope that A.J.A. makes increased production and hopefully 4:4:4 (:4)).
John, my e-mail is, educationalbroadcasting@hotmail.com, same as used in the personal sales topic. Fred -
John, if the software or KiPro output re-issues the same file-name over and over again then it`s recognizable to be renamed. Worse than something automatic that works but better than something that makes an automatic file-name that disappears, something that happens more often in Windows than Mac (or isoLinux). John, would you please drop an e- mail on my e- mail?

Here’s my favorite sentence in the description:
“Flash cards function as standard HFS drives when connected to a Mac computer via any standard off the shelf Compact Flash reader”.
Finally!.. no more FAT32 NO_NAME volumes with 4GB “chunked” files. Somebody please tell me the Mini Formats the HFS CF cards with a unique volume name based on some user defined criteria… please! I’d be thrilled with a date stamp as volume name… anything but the same name over, and over, and over again!John Heagy

Is it possible that when you plug the Kona 3 into the same “crossfire” bus as the video card (which is normal) it readjusts the (Memory-) timing to the video card or Kona 3 card and there`s some adjustment of it`s timing with a name like “video 2T” or “video UM” that should be adjusted in the bios or motherboard jumpers? Had you tried my power supply fade guess?

I agree with you guys completely (May the pixellated artifacts of a thousand bad commercials glaze the own eyeballs of the compression makers!), except why do you all refer to this as a “local TV spot” problem? I find cable distributors and maybe network sattelite uploaders to be the usual offenders.

Ed, I blame Sony not NewBlueFX. My answer was as stated somewhat skewed of the question. One can contact Sony for their type of answer or one can try as stated in the matter of Sony Vegas. I hadn`t found a reason to try NewBlueFX yet. I do hope it gets a forum.
