You can open multiple copies of After effects by right clicking on the AE App in the applications folder “Show Package Contents” then Contents/MacOS Double click the After Effects executable file in there. You can also drag it to your dock on the side with Downloads and the Apps folder

+1 for the ability to consecutively number files across cards and the ability to add custom metadata like production name camera # etc. Defiantly a pain to have a bunch of cards that all have the EXACT same file names! 50 card changes = 50 00000.MTS files

And the ability to NAME the Picture Profiles is a must, really annoying to have to have a strip of tape on the camera explaining what the PP are.

I’m Having this same problem I was working with the flash files fine but I opened the AE file today and all my Flash animation file are 72×72 and 1 frame of black. They were working for the last few days, but not now. Any solutions to this. Im on AE CS5. I just tried to open it in AE CS5.5 and it opened and is reading the flash files fine. Why does it not work it CS5 all the sudden.

  • Do you know that for a fact or are you just guessing?

If open up the footage on in Quicktime Pro and bring up the Media Info window it states its “Millions” (on any and all computers). Since ProRes444 is 12bit it seems to make sense that it would be in “Millions+” category, but not in the “Trillions” of colors since I think you could lump anything from 8bit to 15bit into the millions Category and 16bit is where it becomes Trillions. But that is a reasonable guess which is only partially substantiated from what I have read elsewhere on the web.

Quicktime and CS4 are all up to date
