  • Hi,

I have posted below the 3 pics corrected with FBmn Software’s Exposure plug-in. I have chosen settings according to what I found was optimal, but this is kind of subjective, and you might try other settings on your own.

The sky can be restored on image1 and image2, but as mentioned by Stephen, the left-hand side part of the sky in image3 is definitely burned. R/G/B are all at 255 there, so no hope to restore any kind of blue I am afraid. Except maybe with an alpha mask to combine a layer of blue (might be tough to adjust on a moving landscape…)

(by the way, JPG compression + resolution downsizing to 480×270 in original images make the resulting pics pretty bad quality).

    Hope this helps,
    Frederic

No clear idea for fixing this, but:

    – did you check the properties of the stills by right click > properties? Just to check any problem.

    – do the stills appear in the project media window?

    – can you preview it if you select it in the project media?

Did you try Alt + Ctrl + right arrow?

(Make sure to select the right track containing the events).

Holding the Shift key in addition will select the events.

Other great shortcuts are listed in the “Help > Keyboard shortcuts” menu.

    Hope this helps,

  • Did you activate the lock toggle button below the effect time line?

Normally, when this is activated, any move on the effect timeline cursor changes the main timeline cursor, and vice versa.

Hope this helps (sorry, for the French in the screenshot),

    Hi,

I am afraid there is no built-in effect for that, however I would suggest a combination of:

    – a noise texture generator for the blue background
    – a mask having a star shape for the star rays
    – a keyframed halo for the mask
    – a mirror effect with a vertical symmetry axis.

    Good luck!!

    OK I certainly will 🙂

By the way, could I ask you one more impression: I have developed a White Balance correction plug-in for Vegas. Do you think it would make sense for FCP? (or do you think that FCP’s built-in White Balance corrector is just fine?)

    Thanks for your feedback.

You may check comparison screenshots of this white balance here: https://www.fbmn-software.com/en/white-balance.html

    Best regards,
    Frederic

    Hi Justin,

    thanks for the feedback! 🙂

What do you mean by “shane”? (don’t know this word).

Anyhow, I did not port the plug-in to FCP (yet).

    Best regards,
    Frederic

DVD should be rendered as MPEG2.

The DVD resolution is 576 pixels wide, so quality will obviously be much much lower that the original 1920×1080.

Regarding BluRay, I am afraid that Movie Studio 10 does not support this format (not 100% sure though).

    Hope this helps,
    Frederic

  • Like with any other event on the timeline, you should deactivate the automatic adjustment if you don’t want that event insertion shifts all following events to the right.

This can be done via the toolbar or the Ctrl+L shortcut.

    Hope this helps,
    Frederic
