    Thanks a lot.
I have tried with 8 even CBR 6Mbps but the same happens on the first fast movement, whereas its fine on the AVI. It basically looks like a dodgy video you downloaded from the net.
I tried to export the movie in APP, as MS AVI, as opposed to DV AVI, which allows me to compress the sound. DV AVI only has uncompressed audio option. This still doesnt work. I was thinking maybe the bitrate was too high for the sound part.
I am very confused. These videos look horrible and the client is paying for this 🙁
    Thanks everyone for any suggestion.

    hey
I dont know if i can halp you much but I am in sydney too, so just thought i dropped a line 🙂
I started using Avid for a show i edited, i thought it was powerful but temperamental. Then i started using Premiere Pro and i realised how much better (for me) it was. THe fact it’s PC friendly and it doesnt crash as often, and it is so much more intuitive made me recommend it highly.
    WHere do you work here?

    Hi Jeff
I could not see any blank menu psd files where you told me to look.
So I have just reinstalled Encore from scratch and guess what?
The radiant menu is still the default, and i still cannot find any blank pal or ntsc in the library or in the folder you mentioned.
It’s getting really frustrating. Maybe you could send me this psd files. My email is frank_pal@hotmail.com unless you have other options of course.
Kind regards and sorry about the trouble.

    hi
thanks for the link but i cant find the answer in the manuals.
i would like to attach a screenshot that i took of my encore workspace, that shows that *even when i start a new project, my general library only shows radiant menu and not any blank menu*.
but i dont think attachments are possible in this forum. oh well, maybe someone can enlighten me. i wouldnt like to think i have to reisntall the thing to see my dear blank menu again!
    thanks

May 25, 2006 at 1:25 am in reply to: no sound on some video files

    hi jeff
    thanks again.
i first burnt on a cheap dvd and then on a maxell dvd with the slowest possible speed in sonic, to make things as safe as possible. Same result.
Good idea about the image created in encore.
About the actual burning, I had read in other forums that sonic was the best to burn a dvd, much better than other apps which are not specialised in dvd burning and comply less tightly with the dvd-r guidelines.
    regards
