    HI
I got exactly the same problem while working on my friend’s Premiere CS3 3.2.0

I couldn’t find the export P2 option I normally get on my Premiere CS3 installed in my own computer .
I checked his version of Premiere CS3, it was up to date…

Actually, we finally discovered that he got a limited version of Premiere, it seems that Adobe distribute a cheaper version for student which is nearly the same, but missing some feature such as export to P2.

Great advantage of exporting to p2 = no loss in term of quality, quickly done, small size (10 times smaller) compare to “no compression avi” file, easy to reimport in any other DVCpro HD project on PC or Mac, no waste of time in rendering (except for sound and transition or special effect). I barely do color correction as I take care of my shot (white balance and proper average lighting) and I like the natural rendering of my Panasonic

My advise is to double check the Premiere CS3 version you get, and if you often work with P2 as I do, you should upgrade for the complete version.

I can handle Final Cut pro on my Mac (which is more present in professional postproduction studio), but Premiere CS3 is smooth as silk with P2 format. I do it on a 1 year old notebook (not top of the line CPU), using 5400 rpm external 2.5″ USB disk, and it works faster than editing DV, without added plug in.
