  • Yep, that was main point – Customization is key especially since Vegas has been customable to an extent since Vegas 3 when I first started using it.

Just give US the users the choice to pick how WE like to work, not how the programmer(s) think we should work.

But László, I also agree this is lower on the list (of issues) but it still should be worked on and fixed when the next patch/fix build comes out.

    Jennifer,

The other option is to uninstall the software using a free program called Geek Uninstaller (If you do not have the paid for Uninstall Tool program). This program will help remove all Vegas 14 files.

After you reboot, it is always advisable to disable or turn off any Anti-Virus also any other program running in real-time similar to Spybot SD Resident program. Basically anything non-essential should not be running so when you re-install Vegas 14 nothing should interfere with the installation process.

The other item to perform is to make sure your Video Drivers are updated to the latest version. If the computer system is used a lot (saving, editing) I would also recommend that you perform a complete Defrag Before you reinstall Vegas 14.

I know a lot of these are basic things, but just thought I would bring it up since they do help in a lot of situations.

    Good Luck.

  • I guess if you do not have ACID Pro 7 all ready, but I guess the bigger question is: Is Music Maker 2016 Premium going to replace ACID or is this more like SoundForge? If Magix will continue to update ACID Pro 7, then maybe but as it is. ACID Pro is like 6 or 7 years old already and Sony never updated it further so I really wonder if Magix will invest in updating it further?

  • The problem, is the fact they did not allow users to customize Vegas to how the person wants it. I prefer Color Icons and having a choice is far better in my opinion then just making them Grey or Black/White and leaving it at that. Give users the choice to pick what they want.

  • Rob,

I do not have the OFX version, but I thought I remember something in the past about removing the Demo/Trial version. Once you have made sure you have “backed-up” the OFX Installer, I would perform an uninstall, reboot and then try to install and activate the software again right away.

Hopefully you will get an answer from GenArts. I believe GenArts is now part of Boris since they got bought out.

    Good Luck,

    From My Point of View,

I believe that VP14 was already “almost” completed by SCS before they sold it to MAGIX. I really doubt that MAGIX would have released something this quick if the product was not already mostly completed. There were other users who commented that they saw websites with info on VP14 way ahead of any “official” notice from SCS early this year I believe.

From the latest complaints on the MAGIX forum regarding the upgrade pricing and lack of offers to current users, a lot are saying they are not updating.

  • Hi László,

I will try that out when I get home, but I thought since Composite Envelope is a track property and the Pan/Crop tool is an event property, I could not move an event because the sync would be lost. Does the lock envelope apply to the pan/crop tool as well?

I came across this limitation when I was trying to create those old VH1 Pop-Up style videos using Vegas Pro. (At each position in the video I have to change Opacity but I could not)

Composite Envelope is a track Property and the Pan/Crop tool is an event property so If I moved an event all sync is lost between the event pan/crop keyframes and any keyframes in the Opacity (composite) envelope.

    Thanks,

September 28, 2016 at 4:31 pm in reply to: Activation of Older SCS Software Question

    No go still.

Now, after MAGIX told me they reset my Activation for SIREN, I am now told that SIREN was never part of the purchase from SCS which I already knew. Not sure how they “reset” something if they do not control it in the first place.

It seems that there needs to be better communication between MAGIX and SCS.

September 23, 2016 at 9:02 pm in reply to: Activation of Older SCS Software Question

Still no go with Registration of SIREN Jukebox . MAGIX told me it was related to my activations, but I doubt it. I am getting Illegal response was seen from the Server.

    Which tells me:

1: They have not updated their servers yet to handle older Sonic Foundry software
2: SCS is still handling activations but they turned off their servers.

    registration_error1.png

My software is now after 7 days without registration, so I cannot use most of the features including making .mp3 files.

I’m hoping that MAGIX is working on their servers to accept All older Sonic Foundry software.
