I just found the solution: it was easy, I collapsed the transformation of the precomps and it seems to work!

OK, I’LL POST A SCREENSHOT SOON, NOW I’M RENDERING (NOTICE THE CAPS LOCK :D)
I PUT THE ADJUSTMENT LAYER UNDER THE LAYERS BECAUSE I DON’T WANT THOSE LAYERS TO BE AFFECTED. I WANT THAT THE PRECOMP IN WICH THE ADJ LAYERS IS INSIDE TO AFFECT THE LAYERS BELOW IT.
IT’S LIKE I HAVE ONE LAYER IN POSITION 2 AND THE PRECOMP IN POSITION 1, THE LAST LAYER OF THE PRECOMP IS THE ADJ, AND IT SHOULD AFFECT THE LAYER IN POSITION 2. -
mac pro quad core 2.4ghz with 32Gb RAM. Quite different systems. I really don’t know what to do with this problem!
I think I’ll try to format it and reinstall AfterEffects as first software then install other software and test compatibility with AE at every installation.
Gosh… -
i have the same problem. what system do you use?
-
thank you, i’m gonna try right now.
I worked on quite big compositions but i have the same problem also on a 720×28
It seems to me that is some kind of codec problem.
If i work with the caps lock on so that i can’t see the videos, After Effects works perfectly.
It only crashes in processes that involves video visualization or manipulation.
For example: if I scale a layer with the caps lock OFF it crashes; caps lock ON no crash.
Move layers with CL OFF -> crash; CL ON -> no crash.what can it be? I have quicktime 7.5, not the notoriusly bugged 7.4.
Maybe I have to uninstall all the softwares like MPEGStreamclip, Cleaner XL or stuff like this?

Not quite a cylinder, because the cylinder is kind of 3D.
I’m looking for a simpler effect: imagine to have a 1230x80px image and bend the right and left edge down until they collide.
It’s like a 2D donut viewed from above. -
Hi,
try something like thishttps://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html?id=114
the feeling is something like lasers but in my opinion is much much better

Ok, I’m doing the trick by doing multiple expression from a comp to another. I’ll post the solution once it’s finished and clean, now it still has some points to be defined better.

oh thank you, you confirmed my suspect that i need as many copies of the movie as frames it’s composed.
The scaling doesn’t need to be animated, it’s a standard parameter. I mean, if i have a PAL 720×576 composition and a PAL 720×576 footage i need to scale it because i need to see more than one frame per time.
Are there some examples of expressions involving time remap and freeze frame?thank you again

oh thank you!
that’s what i was looking for!
