This sounds like you have upgraded to QuickTime 7.5.5, which does NOT work with the Media 100 i codec. Most likely you will see some problematic behavior also on your system, although a big part of the decoding of the QuickTimes is done on the hardware. Best would be to downgrade to QuickTime 7.5 again.

What audio input do you have selected in the preferences for Acquire?

Actually the next release will allow exports with TC superimposed in the image. Currently you e.g. can add a Tc overlay in Compressor, or create a TC overlay clip for use with Media100 exports in AE or Red (render it out with alpha once and overlay it in a V track).

Try deactivating the audio in the Input Channel Mapping window. Do you now get correct video input? I guess you are set up to acquire audio via a digital input, which probably does not get a signal right now.

Yes, if you have V13 or later. In V13 XML exchange with FinalCutPro was introduced, and you can now move timelines and mediafiles from FCP to Media 100 and back.

With V13 of Media 100 you can exchange XML files with media files between FinalCut and Media 100

One thing you could try is to downgrade to QuickTime 7.6 (or QuickTime 7.5). I heard that maybe QuickTime 7.6.2 is causing this problem.

Not really sure, but I guess not. You could use e.g. DVCProHD codec on your G5 system as a test. While it is not full raster it usually gives relatively good results, and it is much easier on the CPU.

You mean HDV input to Media 100 HD codec? What happens if you try a different codec?
What is the audio sample rate on your HDV tape?

What are the sync indicator boxes showing (the boxes next to the V and A1A2 buttons)? are they yellow? And is the timecode from Media100 or from the deck? As far as I know the deck does not put out a superimposed TC on component, so most likely it is from Media 100. You definitely should check your cabling and your Kona BOB connections.
Do you have any other Component source to try? Is the green light at the Kona BOB active?
