If you are upgrading to a Kona3 anyway, you definitely should think about getting Media100 Suite for this system. It works easily with FCP and the Kona cards. And if you use Media100, you can acquire HDV via Firewire into a Codec of your choice and monitor it on your Kona out while acqiring. Plus, since you said you want to work on location, the Media100 Suite in combination with a Matrox MXO (mini) on a MacBook Pro is a pretty powerful and flexible package.

Do you get an error message? What happens if you try to play something? Could you check what version of QuickTime qou have installed? And what version of OSX? There has been an issue with QuickTime 7.5.5…

So I guess you are using a Kona LHe? Look in the Audio out prefefences for the analog audio level selection and set it to a value that works with your DVD recorder…

I guess you should give Media 100 Suite a try. It captures timecode within the QuickTime files, like FCP does. Most likely this could fix your timecode issues.

Which system? How is your analog audio set up? Which connections? And why are you using 44.1???

If your P2 files are recorded in DVCProHD, they should stay in this codec. Set your bin to List view and look at the “Codec” column to see in which format they are.

No. It could be that there is an issue with the P2 import. I think some changes were made to the import in one of the later 13.0.x updates of Media 100. Maybe you should give the latest version a try to see if there is a fix for your issue.

Do you have the Apple mouse with the scrollwheel? It should be included with your MacPro… This is the “Mighty Mouse”. You can turn on right-click for it in the System Preferences->Keyboard & Mouse->Mouse pref.

Since Apple sells the Mighty Mouse (with a right-click mouse button) for more than 4 years now, and since it is included with most Macs these days, I guess most Mac users are familiar with the concept of right-clicks.
