[Alex] “Video inserts are fine but whenever we’ve tried either Audio by itself or Audio & Video simultaneously we’ve had this problem.”

Are your video inserts frame accurate (relatively to your timeline)? We initially had some problems with that, and that

What software version are you using? Have you set the “sync audio to” setting set correctly (to the video out you are using)? Do you insert audio only, or audio and video? Have you set the “Frame offset” correctly for your deck? For our HDCam HDW-M2000P we have to set it to -1.

[Ben Heusner] “Does V11.6 still allow the use of 844/X media on Intel Macs? I took a quick look at Producer but it’s all greyed out.”

Currently not. Most likely you are right about the 844/X codec not being Intel ready.

    2 ideas about this:
    – When installing the hardware, did you adjust the PCI-Express lanes as suggested? I did not know about this when setting up our system, and we had some strange problems. Setting the lanes correctly did fix it.
    – Get in contact with Media 100 support. I heard rumors that they are working on a small update to fix some things, and maybe you can get a beta copy to see if your problem is fixed. If not it definitely should get into the next update.

Btw., is a crash report generated when the application disappears? If yes, do you send them to M100 via the BugReporter that opens? Include your email-address in these reports, and I would guess that somebody will contact you.

The question is what you want to do, and on which system you feel comfortable. If the rendering times are your main concern you definitely should have a look at Media 100 HD: You won

[todd mcmullen] “Is there a way to take M100 v8.2.3 files and digitized video and import it into 844x?
I have started cutting the project on M100i and the client wants to continue with his 844 system. “

Realistically not. It is much easier to reacquire on 844/X. You can take over Bins and Programs via XML, though.

If you are speaking about AE7 and Media 100 files on your MacPro, this most likely happens because the Media 100 codec on your system is a Intel-only version. So the “old” AE7/PPC cannot access this codec. I would expect that this gets changed in an update soon. The AE CS3 beta (and other Intel-native applications like QuickTime player) should be able to access the files correctly.
