If you choose the image and wireframe view in the canvas, you will have control of the size and position of each layer of video in the canvas. The crop tool could also be useful.

Hi Bob,

Sorry for the delay – bogged down on a job. The machine in question is a power mac G5, but I am looking for a solution for many different machines. We’d like to give the tape ops the best cards for ingesting any formats (probably the decklink HD pro) and then on the edit macs, just a good quality versatile card for outputting will do, no need for capture in there. Our current thinking is to use a dual output card so we can output anything up to HD to an apple HD screen.
