I’m lookinbg for a good cheap card to output video up to HD quality.

    I’d prefer Blackmagic.

It doesn’t need to have inputs as other machines ingest the footage.

    Any suggestions?

    Fiona –
what will you be feeding the HD signal to? An HD VTR or just an HD TV ? What computer do you own? Are you using FCP ?

    Hello Fiona –
I was finishing a job in Miami, FL. this morning, when I responded to your email 7/3/07. I drove home to Orlando, and am ready to answer your important questions. What are you doing, Fiona ?

    Hi Bob,

Sorry for the delay – bogged down on a job. The machine in question is a power mac G5, but I am looking for a solution for many different machines. We’d like to give the tape ops the best cards for ingesting any formats (probably the decklink HD pro) and then on the edit macs, just a good quality versatile card for outputting will do, no need for capture in there. Our current thinking is to use a dual output card so we can output anything up to HD to an apple HD screen.

    What do you think?

    Thanks again

    Fiona
