  • Ive been playing the tapes, but i dont see any embedded date or time. Am i perhaps not on the right menu setting? All the other display data pop up, such as “hdv60”, and the minutes left on the tape, but no info on when it was taken –

[Ryan Holmes] “If you pop that tape into a Canon deck/camera the time/date is embedded in there (provided the day/time where set correctly in the camera settings the day it was shot).

I’m not sure if you can see that information in a Log & Capture window in FCP, but it might be worth a look. But for sure it’ll be there when played back through a Canon tape deck or camera.

    thanks so much!

I tried cbr, one pass, but the final looked identical to the others – bummer – thought that would be the trick – grrrr.

    thanks for your time anyway!

ps – i really thought downgrading would be such a no-brainer. Seems like everyone shoots in HD now – like youre crazy if you dont. So many professionals shooting weddings, for instance, who need to make dvd’s for their clients – what are all these people doing?

    Thanks so much

But… I was using my TV for the testing – i actually forgot that the mac could display dvd’s! It looks bad – even for sd.

Also, when i go to geometry tab in compressor, the dimensions are grayed out at 720×480. just lets me crop or pad. Any other suggestions, especially on making it look better? thanks –

  • thanks so much – i fixed the scaling – it had somehow jumped up – i put it back to 100. BUT – now the footage is not the right size in the canvas – there are those black bars on the sides. No, all frame sizes and codecs are the same – . Thanks in advance for your help –

June 29, 2011 at 5:46 pm in reply to: positioning multiple text clips with wireframe?

sorry for such a newbie question, but how do i paste the attributes into the clip? I copied the one clip that had the location I wanted, then tried to do the “paste attributes ” from the rt click menu onto another clip, but it did not change that clips location attribute –

    thanks a ton –

  • Im going to try that- thanks!!

  • Thanks, but thats what im doing right now- just with an older project as opposed to only the text. Bummer- i thought for sure there would be a more efficient solution – thanks for the reply though!!
