My Dual 2.7 GHz Power PC G5 barely plays Apple ProRes, but with titles and color corrected clips the CPU reaches 100%. For a smooth playback these would have to be rendered. Also make shure that no other applications are using CPU resources (can also be checked in the Activity Monitor).
My 2.4GHz Intel core 2 Duo MacBook Pro is fast enough for ProRes playback, so as Floh says – ProRes likes Intel.Felix, (also from Switzerland)

One reason could be the naming of the main folder where you keep all your subfolders for the BPAVs. I had the following setup: Main folder “BPAV”, then the subfolders like BPAV Alaska, BPAV Else, and in these subfolders I put the BPAVs from the SxS cards ( just transferred them in the finder). And this setup did not work, Transfer tool did not recognize the BPAVs.
But when I renamed the main folder to “BPAV folder” (instead of only BPAV) it works fine now and recognizes all the clips.Felix

There are still some video sync problems in 13.0.1 upon batch acquiring. Once in awhile a batch goes through flawlessly and then again it stops three to five times per batch. Tape deck is Pana AJ-D950. But at least it does not freeze and you don’t loose all the acquired clips anymore. M100 seems to know about this according to their release notes.

So I just downloaded Vs 13.0.1 Hdx and producer. Acquiring does not freeze anymore. Shall do some upgrading on Monday. The media100 people deserve it!
Thanks Floh, you did it again! What would the media100 community do without you!

Thanks Wick

Thank you both, Floh and Wick

March 2, 2009 at 7:43 am in reply to: problem returning back to 12.1.3 after installing trial vs. 13.0.1I uninstalled (not just deleted) Vs. 13 and now I need to reinstall Vs. 12 again. Next time if I try out a version I’ll do it on a different partition.
Wick, can I still download 12.1.3 somewhere? -

March 2, 2009 at 5:57 am in reply to: problem returning back to 12.1.3 after installing trial vs. 13.0.1Uninstalling 13.0.1 did not help. 12.1.3 is still broken, it is missing the quicktime components now. Probably I have to download and reinstall 12.1.3 again. I have not seen a warning that if you install a trial version that your actual version does not function anymore. Is it always that way?

March 1, 2009 at 4:16 pm in reply to: problem returning back to 12.1.3 after installing trial vs. 13.0.112.1.3 worked fine with OSX 10.5.6. until after I tried vs. 13 producer today. (Wanted to checkout a never resolved problem with jagged edges in RED).
I’m on HDx.
I probably have to reinstall 12.1.3 again, but if I would have known that then I would not have tried vs. 13.Thanks Floh
