I’m sorry, I’m new to forums as such. Do not know the etiquette. Someone told me that normally it takes up to 3 hrs to get a reply and since I didn’t, I thought I’ll try to find people that might know an answer to my problem.
    sorry again

    Hi,

I’m brand new to After Effects and already struggling with a weird problem.
I’m trying to get rid of a flashing red light of a 2nd camera in my footage, it comes up every couple of seconds for 4 frames. So I set the Clone tool to Custom, set the duration to 4 frames and since I want to clone in time set the source time shift -6 frames to be on the safe side.
For some reason the clone tool works only one or two frames and then the red light comes up again ;((((
Then I close start the whole project from the beginning and now the duration works but my brush is always square and covers only right lower quarter of the light.
I’m completely clueless why. What do I do wrong?

thanks a lot for the tip

    Thank you for your answer,
unfortunately it’s none of the 2 possibilities you mentioned.
I work since 2 and 1/2 years with the same work flow, I tried to export to different drives, and I definitely put the in and out points at the beginning and the end of the movie.
I also tried to export movies from different projects…
    same problem
    ;(

oups I guess I got lost in translation
    should’ve written without Conversion

there are 2 options to export from FCP
    Quick Time Movie
    or
    Using Quick Time Conversion
    I use the first one

  • Hi Shane,

you are totally right that one should think, plan first then shoot.
But what would you do in this situation, we are making a film for an artist about… stick climbing (never mind) we will use out Canon XH1 which is 1080p25, we need a helm camera for a climber but the only one we can get here in Austria are 1080p30, at least both of them are HDV.
    But what to do?
    best regards
