November 8, 2016 at 9:48 pm in reply to: nested compositions and expression control problemHi Dan,
Thanks for your quick help. Unfortunately I didn’t understand
“If your pre comp doesn’t start at time = 0 in the main comp, you have to compensate for the offset”Do you mean as ‘main comp= City?’. For instance, if the character don’t start at frame ‘0’ in the scene ( e.g.: city), I’ll need to use that code above, right?…where?.
Or
Main Comp = Full character?…this is how its is structured at the moment.Full character Comp –>Heads( L/R &Front = 5 Min Length)–>Eyes ( 4 Frames Length )–> Pupil ( linked to Null Pos in the Full Character Comp)
So, the Pupil Moves according to the null but only on first few frames, but if a keyframe is set, it won’t work.
Am I crazy here?
Thanks for your help

November 1, 2016 at 3:37 pm in reply to: Disks optimization for better rendering and workflow!Hi Walter, Thanks for helping me out on this.
My DB is not huge, only has current job on it and at the moment its under 40GB.
So, as you say…I’m not making any major mistake here or wasting money on Z turbo drives.
As I mentioned earlier, this is new machine and comparing to my older machine ( HP Z420) which had 2x SSD drives+ 1TB HD, 32 GB RAM, Nvidia K4000, it doesn’t seems to be a blast or causing us to should out “WOW…This is fast!”, instead of “Its alright”, not mentioning of spending £5000 for it.Thank you so much

I’m interested in what you said here
“You can also add yourself a Position Expression Control from the Effects and add its value if the above …”
I’m totally beginner when it comes to expression, if you could give a hint how to do it I’d apreciate once again.Everton Gois

Hi Jason, Wow mate, actually NO, I haven’t seen it yet. It sounds pretty good. Thanks for sharing it! I’m on early stage with an animation character project. I’m used to work with Duik but I decided to experiment an different character setup this time ( an easier one, only using path shape for the limbs ). I haven’t got the script back from my client yet, so I still exploring it and I know he is a tourist, so he will use a camera sometimes which will be strapped on his neck. Even if I can get this thing working, will have to figure out later on how do I link/unlink the camera to his hand. Thank you so much for sharing it. I’ll have a look.

Hi Kalle, I think you are right, but if I have to use puppet tool, I’d personally use DuIk tools, which I’m more familiar. I was trying to find a simpler way to animate a character. I have been using DuIk for the last past 2 years and it is very good for complex character animation but this time I was trying use only path shape. Yeah, I think I should stick to puppet tools. Thanks for your help Kalle.
