Thanks Brandon, I think it’s good to cross-pollinate on the forums, good way to solve problems. As usual your design is outstanding, I’m going to play around with this filter. (ie, there goes my Saturday night!)

Just dropped this into my favorites folder, very cool effect!

I could use a custom filter to put on still photos for a look that I often have to create manually. I have no idea how difficult it would be to create in Motion, I’d be happy to pay someone for throwing it together. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Here is a clip that shows the effect: https://vimeo.com/ethanedit/panels

Here is how I create it manually in FCPX:

I noticed that the on screen controls were not in this version, any way to get those into this version, too?

    Thanks Simon!

Looks perfect to me, glad you defaulted the border to off, as well. Thanks!

Cool, I think just a global feather control for all 4 sides would be perfect. Thanks.

Just downloaded the grunge filter, good to have in the arsenal. All of you Motion programming warriors are making life much easier! ::me raising a glass::

Simon, This filter is outstanding, very well done. How difficult is it to add a feather option to fuzz out the border? You’re probably rolling your eyes at the constant stream of idea requests…We’ll have to start paying you commissions! 🙂

Truly, a marvelous split screen for FCPX. I have a feeling this could end up at the top of my favorites folder in day to day use.

An index of emerging FCPX plugins would be very helpful. We have been trying to track down as much information as possible about where to find decent plugins.

Excellent plugin. I use a lot of still images in documentaries and we often use split screen effects to bring up multiple layers. This is going to be very helpful!

I guess that makes sense since such a feature could just as easily give you a modification when you don’t want one, as well. I think I’m better off waiting to do color until after the edit, then apply them using meta-tags and the FIND command.
