Hey guys… So I’m sure someone is eventually going to build a website dedicated to user-built FCPX Effects/Presets as it has become much easier to publish them but in the mean time do you think it would be a good idea to have a new forum dedicated to just posting presets made from Cow members? I say this as it hasn’t even been a month yet and there has to be at least 20 or so great presets buried in all the forum posts. I’m just a user curious what the Cow Leaders think. Just a thought to ponder.

Sounds like a great idea to me.

Me too. We’ve really been scratching our heads about how to deal with so much great content going up, and getting buried in the amount of traffic we’re getting. Traffic is good. Losing wonderful stuff, not so much.

While we’re ruminating….cows being ruminants and all….feel free to toss out some ideas.

One thing I’ll note for now — people with tutorials: stop posting on YouTube and Vimeo. We’ll pay you for this stuff, so get in touch.

    Thanks,

Yr. pal Timmy from Creative COW

I was looking at possibly creating a website to upload presets/ fx to that everyone could also upload too… as a way of keeping the techniques forum free from the interruptions of the fun we’re having building these things 😉

But it would probably be best as another forum inside the cow as suggested…save have to log into yet another website, and also have it remain a open resource if you like.

Just thinking out loud (ouch that hurts this thinking thing)

    Cheers,

    Brendan

Have the Cow gods thought about something like:

    https://people.redgiantsoftware.com/

Seems like it would be a good fit with all your tutorials.

I think a browsable downloads area would be good that users can upload to through their account into a searchable category.

    IE:

    UPLOAD TO: FCP X PLUGIN
    UPLOAD TO: MOTION FX
    UPLOAD TO: AE
    etc.

There’s a forum over at FCP.co for free effects and templates.

An index of emerging FCPX plugins would be very helpful. We have been trying to track down as much information as possible about where to find decent plugins.

I’ve put together https://www.fcpeffects.com. There’s only one transition on there now, but I hope to add more effects when I get time this weekend.

There will be both free and paid effects.
