They are listed in the hamburger “fast menu” of the timeline, not the composer windows. Look in the lower left hand corner of the timeline window below all the tracks. Clicking on it will bring up a menu with a list of text items (this is the same place you’d go to set clip color options, audio plot, etc…), on this menu is the “More Detail” and “Less Detail” options.

Thanks! Lead me on the right track.
Open the Keyboard settings from the settings menu.
Open the Command Palette.
Choose “Menu to button reassignment”
Click on the button you want to assign the command to on the keyboard layout. It turns purple.
Next click on the hamburger menu on the timeline, then click on “More detail”.
You’ll end up with a “MD” showing on the key you selected on the keyboard.
Repeat the procedure to map the “Less Detail” command.Then close the command palette and keyboard layout.

yeah..that works, but still not as handy or quick as the up/down arrow keys are in Express. It’s become a bit of a reflex action it seems… Just have to relearn to match MC.

I’d be curious to know how to do this.
Zooming in/out of the timeline in MC requires holding down the CTRL key and then pressing [ or ].
There doesn’t seem to be a menu item for it or button in the command palette…so mapping it to a single key doesn’t seem possible.
The “next edit trim mode” also seems to be difficult to work around… the help indicates that the next edit button will jump to the next edit and automatically enter trim mode. In order to not enter trim mode it says to use the “fast forward” button >>.Erik

After a little tinkering with this I got it to work.
I used the HDW-M2000 template on 9pin.
Had to reboot the adrenaline, since after configuring it I was getting an error that there wasn’t a valid video source when I hit the capture button…regardless of the fact I could see it in the composer window on on my HD monitor.Erik

Can you share how you have things configured?
Machine control via 9 pin or 1394? Which deck template?

We have a HVR-1500 and MC Adrenaline. Haven’t had a chance to fiddle with it too much. Our last attempt at getting this setup, MC’s capture tool showed the video button grayed out with only the audio tracks available. We were under a deadline so we had to stop trying to get it to work over HD-SDI and settle for firewire for times sake.
Avid doesn’t seem to have a deck template available yet for the deck as far as I can tell, so MC maybe just confused as to what capabilities it has.
We also have a HDW-1800, which works fine over HDSDI, though I was a little disappointed to find out that even though the HDV input connector is on the back of it but it doesn’t do anything without an optional board installed (thanks Sony).Erik

Depends on what codec he created the Quicktime files with.
Some codecs there is no PC equivalant. Others like “Animation” are cross platform.Erik

In a way. When you exported the file after you made your adjustments, you exported it as an AVI file…You essentially had AE read every frame of your new adjusted video and create a new file that wasn’t as compressed, not compressed as efficiently (different codecs compress differently with differing quality), or not compressed at all.
You could have exported the file as a MOV file using the Animation Codec or “None” and have a very big file as well.Erik
