Thanks very much for your thoughts. I appreciate it and will look into what I can muster in regards to entry fees.

    Thanks again.

That’s what I don’t get. The XLR does work fine with the shotgun so it doesnt’ make sense that the wireless lavs wouldn’t work.

I am using different XLR connector cables for each lav. That is, one system is a Samson, and the other is a Sony. And both produce the buzz the same way, and the same amount.

It’s odd that both wireless lavs would go on the fritz on the same day, the same way, when nothing was changed on either of them.

If anyone has any suggestions or things to look at, am open.

    Thanks.

    Erik.

    Thanks Tim

No, it’s not that I don’t think. The hum/buzz registers about four to five bars on the audio monitor. And the XLR inputs are different for each of the lav mics so it’s not that either. Very vexing and something that I need to fix ASAP.

  • I’ve got FX 5500 and downloaded the latest drivers which seemed to do the trick. Thanks. As for the preview out, I don’t see that I have any other way to get to an external monitor other than via Vegas. There is an s-video port but I don’t think I can use that while using my dual monitors at the same time. Can you?

    Erik.

  • On the other hand, from what I gather, it’s the DVD A2 (or A3) where the real improvements have been made. So perhaps the buy is worth it for that?

  • Would you suggest sticking to V4 until it’s sorted out? At this point, deck link is not something I would use.

I was just about to answer this as it’s finally something I can handle, but I see it’s already been done. In any event, hello to Galway. I was there last spring and the fall before for the Oyster Festival. I loved it and did a 30 minute pilot for the Travel Network in Canada around Galway and the festival, all edited in Vegas 4. Enjoy your course.

  • Stability is the key for me at this point. When always racing deadlines crashes are most unwelcomed. Nancy has a good point to buy it and then hold for the next update if things go awry during trial runs. Any information on how well the dual processing works?
