  • I suggest EventManagerX for moving Events/Projects quickly.
    Great tool for FCPX.

  • Im not sure if its mentioned here but there are issues with CineForm and Adobe products installed on the same system (both platforms).
We had issues with round tripping QT movies from Premiere to After Effects due to CineForm installed on same workstation.
This was back in CS 5.5 and 6 from my experience.
We also found the issue from AE to FCPX and back.
Didnt affect any of our RESOLVE or REDCineX workflows since thats all R3Ds.
THe issue is that the QT file becomes un-recognized.
Bizzare and still havent botheres to report it.
Un-installed CineForm on OS X and Windows 7 and now all good.

Jarred has mentioned a Mac version soon.
Sure Im hoping for OpenCL version but we have plenty of CUDA cards as well as ROCKETS in hand.
This is just another option that I welcome to our workflow.
We are all spoiled by the offerings that are available these days.

Oh the days when my 6100 60/AV needed more RAM 😉

Haha it must be a slow week/month if we have to discuss this type of topic 🙂

Id rather argue why theaters still play low res material prior to feature 😛

People can call him whatever and Im sure some have valid reasons.
I dont know any of the big camera/software/hardware makers personally and I honestly couldn’t care less.
I purchased a Scarlet (personal use) cause I had tons of experience with the RED MX and its workflow.
    The gear simplify works.
Maybe my past experiences with Canon XL-1, Sony BetaCam/XDCAM, etc… attributed to that move.
I didnt stop using that gear cause the originator is a dick.
    LOL!

Just got dinged with this for three months at $79 USD each.

The good thing is they reverse one payment (the one I noticed) and awaiting if they complied with the other two I found after making the complaint.

I also found an Amazon scam called Direct Marketing – Continuity/Subscription Merchants.

Now Im going to check my credit card statements weekly 😛

[Clayton Brown] “Hate sound like such a newb, but what are ‘volumes’ in relation to FCPX?”

A mounted volume is anything like external drive, internal primary/secondary drive, network drive etc…

    I would update to 10.0.9.

Ive update almost every time with over 50 projects to date and still no problems.

Only issues I have are missing volumes.

[Nate Weaver] “Even though the Redrocket does the full debayer, it’s up to the rest of your computer to transport those huge frames across the PCI bus (assuming it’s not saturated), get them to the GPU, scale them down in real time, and then pump out to the display.”

Sounds like it but I did test this on a few beefy systems with multiple Quadro 4000s in a CUBIX.

    Still no go.

RED support asked to shut off Background Render.

    That didnt work either.

David Battistella chimed in on my REDUSER post.

It looks like you can only play in HALF during edit mode and utilize FULL at rendering.

On that note maybe they should have warning or grey out the High Performance option in Prefs.

    Such a tease 🙂

Its all good. I can play in HALF during edit in FCPX.

RCXPRO plays well in all modes so no issues there.

    Next test is RESOLVE.

    Thanks folks for replying 🙂
