This isn’t possible in Encore. You’ll need a tool which provides scripting functions. Here’s a tutorial for DVDSP on this kind of functionality:

You encode your SD assets in Compressor, then bring them into DVDSP. Make sure your go to preference and are making an SD DVD and author away.

No reason to double post. If you’re sure you need an HD DVD then I’d keep the birates below 15mb/s and use AC3 audio. Playback on the 1st gen Toshiba players seemed to work best for me. But I would check again to make sure the festival isn’t talking about a Blu Ray disc.

There are 3 reagion in BD: A,B,C.

1920x1080x59.94i, 50i (16:9) – 50i in Europe Only

Thats good advice Jerry. Also its important to know that this should not be a general rule since Compressor can do a poor job in VBR mode compared to other encoders on the market. Source quality is also important as well.

Yep….bottom line is that DV sucks. Bitvice has a good preprocessing filter but there’s very little you can do here.

It has to do with the HDMI signal not supporting line 21 CC. Doubtful at this point it will be added. Everyone watches BD dics with a set top player so subtitles are fine. Never know though. 🙂

There are only 3 tools which author 3D titles: Blu Print, Scenarist and Do Studio and they are all Windows and none are prioritory. Encore is a joke really so i dont bother mentioning it here.
3D titles are only done by the studios at this point. It requires special authoring, encoding, players, HDTVs and glasses. You can encode a passive 3D image and put that on disc but this isnt that same as 3D BD. Basically, there is no cheap, easy to use option for BD.
Futhermore, Episode does not output a compliant stream for both their VC-1 and AVC settings last i heard so when i say do the homework, it really might help you 🙂
