It all depends. If its on going with a small amount of data to be delivered, it will work. It wouldn’t for me since I have clients delivering Hundreds of gigabytes or Terabytes of files. The pioneer drives are great and run under $200

Upconverting won’t do anything. Its already 720×480 so the “damage” has already been done. Keep it 720×480

How much data are we talking? You’re talking about going out and buying BD burner, installing it, discs, time it takes to burned 25g (about 45 mins). You can get 1.5T drive for $100 and ship it for next day delivery. You do the math! 🙂
You said its temporary so use a temporary delivery solution like HDD.

Blu Ray would be a bad option as well. Have him send the files on a HDD and overnight it.

Yeah…your talking about Rimage Video Protect. I never mention all the Voodoo copy protection schemes out there. CSS is the only copy protection for DVD. Everything else, you’re risking compatibility issues….thats been well documented. Beside, encryption is a waste of time anyway.

No..copy protection can only be applied at a replication facility. Not a writable discs.

Scenarist runs about $20,000 plus there a huge learning curve. A little advice….unless you have a simple title and/or plan on doing very little BD work in the future, you might want to hire someone to do this for you. There are tons of pitfalls in BD which can cost time, money and embarrassments. This is just my opinion but look at James Heliker’s posts 2 threads down from yours. This is what happens when someone jumps into a BD project without doing their homework.

This isn’t possible in DVD. There used to be technology called Interactual player which would act as a go between the web and your disc but is no longer made or supported. Even DVDSP solution is very unreliable

Yeah you’ll need to do some tutorials first to get up to speed first. I can give you general advice but to give you a step by step over a forum would be impossible.
Basically you need to divide your questions up by chapters by scrubbing the timeline to the point you need and press “M” to lay down a chapter marker. If you click on a chapter you can set what that chapter does after it is complete by setting the End jump. This goes to another track which contains your answer. After the answer track is complete, you set its End Jump back to the chapter where you left off.
