The quality of your demuxed stream has nothing to do with the authoring tool you use. When you demux, youre just taking off the MPEG 2 Stream already on the disc

Not unless you author it incorrectly. There are several replicated titles done with DVDLab. Dont have them on hand but there used to be a forum on DVDLab which went over the titles used.

Personally, Id go with DVDSP, but Encore and DVDLab will work fine.
but it really comes down to how knowledgeable you are about DEmuxing and authoring and Design for DVD. If youve never done this before (which I dont think you have :):) ) it would be wise to get someone who has.

There maybe…..you need to contact Rovi. Not sure what you saw but it was probably some crack.
Scenarist is overkill unless you are an exclusive authoring house or plan on doing several titles in the future. Plus it will take you weeks/months to learn.
Just extract you content and use DVD lab, DVDSP or Encore

From the beginning. Once you have your “LAYER 0” Folder you would follow the instructions on the link and write this folder to a DVD-R using the UDF format setting.
The replicator will take this folder off the disc and make your discs for you
Dont over think this. The info in that folder is used to create a playable DVD. You’ll be fine 🙂

It isn’t meant to be played in a DVD player. These are the files used by the replicator to make disc that will play.

No I understood…..I just dont agree with either of you 🙂 What Im saying is that BD is fairly standard way to deliver HD today. One offs are simple to deliver, players are cheap and every film is delivered on Blu Ray now.
DVD was such a huge leap from VHS….to see the same acceptance from DVD to BD would be impossible. BD was not meant to replace DVD.
There are so many more variables now: VOD, huge amounts of content, People just not caring about quality perhaps?

All films are released on BD and players are cheap. It’s fairly simple to put a film on BD. it just get more complicated in the authoring stage than DVD with pop ups and multi ch audio and subs….Thats all
But if the client just needs to proof it or it’s a one time looping presentation, then it’s probably better just to play the orig file from a HDD

If you want to do this right then you need to hire somone who’s done this kind of work before. BD is very strict on its specs and simply demuxing a stream may not cut it. You don’t even know what and how the orig stream were encoded? Are they in spec? What encoder? Were multi audio and subs accounted for?
Also Encore is unable to do what your looking for. I
You’re looking at at heavy investment in time and money to produce milti audio/subs and pops upsBD isn’t DVD….not by a long shot and those who produce them correctly have unique skills sets you will need to master before moving on.
I’m don’t mean to say your unable to do the work or not a Pro…. You obviously are. It’s just there are too many people who decide they will authoring a BD with ” X Y and Z”. And find out later (often when a client is expecting a product) That they are in over their heads
