making a css encrypted master from DVDSP
I’m trying to make a master copy of a a single layer DVD-R and put css encryption on it. The link below explains a process to do that in Toast after formatting to a hard drive DDP 2.00 in DVDSP.

My problem is that When I burn the DVD in toast it isn’t a DVD that will play in a licensed DVD player. Is that Okay? Is that what the replication plant needs? I’d really appreciate it if someone could walk me through the entire process from DVDSP. I really don’t have a clue how to go about doing this. Please help anyone.

It isn’t meant to be played in a DVD player. These are the files used by the replicator to make disc that will play.

But all the information they need to replicate discs that will be played in a dvd player later on (as authored in DVDSP) is on that DVD-ROM right? Do I need to send them two discs. One of the DVD and the other with the files?

I have never made a master in Toast and I’m not saying that it will not work. You can make a DDP 2.0 file within DVDSP. You can burn that to DVD-R or even better write it to a thumb drive.
This will not make a playable DVD but it contains your complete DVD project.

From the beginning. Once you have your “LAYER 0” Folder you would follow the instructions on the link and write this folder to a DVD-R using the UDF format setting.
The replicator will take this folder off the disc and make your discs for you
Dont over think this. The info in that folder is used to create a playable DVD. You’ll be fine 🙂
