Netblender’s iPhone tool won’t have anything to do with Apple supporting (or not supporting) BD. It’s just a nifty little tool developed out of Apple’s iPhone SDK made available a couple months ago.

I’ve always heard that burn speed might affect compatibility although I’ve never seen any documentable proof to that claim. Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim always seem to have good reports from users.

I’m pretty sure that was an intended effect. Looks like he did it in his NLE. Amazing the quality thats possible with such a low investment these days.

A disclaimer would be good. Like Micheal said, there’s no possible way to control what happens once its delivered.

You explain to them the situation and provide a link and instructions on what to do. I fact, I have a permanent disclaimer on my invoices that explains their responsibility in finding a suitable playback platform and this is not related to my authored discs. I even provide links to software playback apps. Before the invoice goes out, I explain this on the phone with them as well.
DVDs were designed to play on set top players…software playback came after the fact.

I think your question is totally legit. However, some words might throw up some red flags. “Ripping” is the process of removing copy protection from a replicated disc. Even if it’s given to you and owned by one of your clients, it’s still against the law to do this (like it or not). “Demuxing” is something different – separating muxed files from the original VOB. Demuxing and Ripping are 2 different things. I know you never mentioned ripping but just so you know in the future.
I’m not entirely sure what the original question is but using MPEG Stream Clip is the perfect tool.

Not sure what encoder your vendor is working with but DVC Pro HD QT will not open up on a PC. Export a 1280×720 8bit Uncompressed. Big files so make sure you have space. If it were a 1920×1080 then I would go 10bit uncompressed.

Yeah…your stuff looks great. The wrestling segment is well lit on the interviews. The camera movements are also well done.
Not saying it can’t be polished. Work on graphics. Good professional graphic especially the lower 2/3 thirds on the interviews will separate you from others….IMO Also graphics as segment or scene separations.
Call local production companies and compete with them on price levels.

Using normal overlays will allow audio.
