You really need something with more CPU power than an Imac if 4K media that is no Pro Res is common. Until this Go take a look at Cineform and see if that helps your editing performance with that media. They have a free trial.

Cant you just select copy files to new location without trimming to move projects with that media. I know it works with AVC media.

The GPU is fine for AE. Only the Ray Tracer components use the GPU. AE will use what ever ram you have available. Definitely get the 32GB.

Well the new Dell monitors look promising. The Asus 31.5 inch is monitor I often see currently. That is what I would suggest till April.

Set the Mbox as your primary audio out ie playback out device in Windows Sound control panel settings. Then go into Premiere preferences and set it to the Windows Audio device. Make sure the channel mapping has the outputs for the Mbox selected.

Premiere will default to the Primary video card that Windows has selected as the Primary display out. To change it you have to go into the Nvidia Control panel and set the preferred GPU that you want to use for the GPU acceleration.

If the media is 10 bit then yes 10bit would be better. If not then don’t bother. The RGB is for film or web based content usually.

Yes after reading the systems showing less performance with Cuda are laptops or lower spec desktops. I am not surprised by that since the systems with Titan cards are really showing results. This shows the memory management is very aggressive on the Cuda end. They will fine tune this but Adobe started out similar. I just hope they don’t lower the performance by reversing the memory management to far the other way.
