future redrocket GPU SDK support..
Posted by Blase Theodore on January 31, 2014 at 5:24 pmPaul P mentioned rumors of GPU SDK support coming soon. I believe the RCX implementation is CUDA/OpenCL agnostic. Can anyone confirm if they are equally effective? If so do you expect an SDK to also support OpenCL?
On one hand this would definitely sway my opinion on the MP 6,1 vs a Cubix full of CUDA. On the other hand, I’m curious if RED would enable an SDK feature that obviously competes with their own RedRocketX card?
Thoughts and opinions?

January 31, 2014 at 6:04 pmPretty sure the Open CL support for GPU debayer was available before it was available for CUDA…

February 4, 2014 at 7:27 pmYes after reading the systems showing less performance with Cuda are laptops or lower spec desktops. I am not surprised by that since the systems with Titan cards are really showing results. This shows the memory management is very aggressive on the Cuda end. They will fine tune this but Adobe started out similar. I just hope they don’t lower the performance by reversing the memory management to far the other way.
