  • New comp for After effect cs6?

    Hi

I want to upgrade my after effect cs4 to AE CS6, and with that I want to buy a new computer. With that I have a few questions.
I will mainly be using it for short clips in full HD, and combined with some 3D from Element3D.

    Computer specs:
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4771 4×3.50GHz (Turbo 3.90GHz)
RAM: Kingston 32GB DDR3-1600 HyperX RAM
    Grafic card:Asus GeForce GTX650 2GB
HDD: 250GB SSD (Samsung 840 EVO)
    HDD: 1TB 7200rpm Seagate
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
How many ram of the 32 can i use with cs6 spread out to the 4 cores?

    Is the grafic card suitable??

    Regards HRB

On my 6 core, I’ve got it spread out to using 4gb per core. And quite frankly, AE will be just fine with 32gb of RAM and a 4 core chip if you insist in using the machine while it’s rendering.

    Hey Dave.
Other than AE I will be using the comp for Cinema4d, photoshop and ilustrator. I will also connect it to my synology NAS with 4TB harddrive to use it occassionaly as a media server. If the comp can take it ofcourse.

The GPU is fine for AE. Only the Ray Tracer components use the GPU. AE will use what ever ram you have available. Definitely get the 32GB.

Dave. Thanks for pointing it out to be completely accurate. I forgot to mention premiere pro and as for sound nothing in the pro end i have been happy sticking to the outdatet soundbooth.
