Hi Steve,
Thanks for your help. It turns out I bought, fresh out of the box FCP 5.1 from CompUSA. There is no
setting as you described in this version. Capturing has become a nightmare. It kicks into a new file arbritraily. There’s no broken time code and the camera was running in continuous takes, no on/off. I’ll go down to the store and see if they’ll take it back, but failing that any suggestions? I have a major project to deliver and this is one complication I didn’t foresee.
