    HELP
I tried having someone export a premiere 2015 project as an xml so that I could open it in my premiere 2014 however it doesn’t seem to have carried over the multi-cam video. Any multi-cam clips in a sequence show up as a blank space in the video track.

Is there anything else I can try to get this to work?
Long story short, I’m running the Lion OS and don’t want to mess up my FCP 7 by switching to El Capitan.

I’m using keyframes to animate the mask but I can’t click into the individual points to adjust them. I would think this is easy and I’m just not clicking the correct thing.

April 21, 2010 at 9:12 pm in reply to: Importing footage from Canon VIXIA HV40?

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for posting that information. I followed this and have a question. My footage is now in FCP. In the browser columns I notice that the Frame Size is 1440×1080, the Compressor is HDV 1080i60, and the Vid Rate is 29.97.
Why is the Vid Rate 29.97? I shot this footage in 24.

Also what are the pros/cons in bringing this footage in in HDV vs Pro Res HQ?

    Thanks!

    Hi Tony,
Just wanted to give you an update on 2 hicups we encountered.

    1. Don’t put the clips in a bin and then try to use the frame rate converter. They must be at the highest level.

    2. Don’t use backslashes or “&” in the name of the clip. The frame rate converter will give you an error message.

Oh, and in the end I edited the clips into a 23.98 timeline and the footage looked really good.

I admit I am still left a bit baffled by this experience. For instance, I
needed to burn our cuts to a dvd, but after exporting them as quicktime
movies they were distorted in dvd studio pro 3. We ended up cutting them
into a 4:3 project and exporting them that way, but who knows if that’s the
    only way to do it.

All the clips are part of the same project.
The production team used the Varicam and
    shot at 40fps & 60fps.
We did the test clips yesterday and once they worked
I began digitizing everything in. Perhaps it is
a FCP problem, although we have trashed the
preferences and re-installed the Frame Rate
    Converter Plug-In.

    Hi Dale,
I was able to convert my files yesterday with the Frame Rate Convertor and am
getting an error message today stating:

The selected media file (101:2a%20%20%20WS%20Picks%) cannot be processed by this tool.
Only DVCPRO HD 720p 59.94 fps media files are supported.

But my files were brought in via the easy setup DVCPRO HD 720p 60 48kHz

I don’t understand why it worked yesterday and not today. I’ve re-installed the components
and plugin from the panasonic website and restarted several times. I’ve taken the clips out of the
bins that I organized them into so that they’d be at the highest level and it still doesn’t work.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    October 4, 2005 at 12:13 am in reply to: Loading 720i 40fps & 60fps footage

    Hi Tony,
    Thanks for the info.
We have FCP 4.5, and a Raid drive.
I went back and checked the counter to confirm that they shot in 40fps & 60fps

When I tried bringing this stuff in via the Blackmagic 59.94 setting, it would digitize way past my out point and into
the next scene. When I tried digitizing it at the Blackmagic 23.98 setting, it would digitize 1/2 of what I logged.
Fortunately, now that I’ve switched to firewire – this problem has stopped.

This project will be finished for HD viewing.

I’m bring in the 40fps & the 60fps footage at the “DVCPRO HD 720p 60 48khz” setting via firewire.
I will set my sequence setting to 23.98.
Then I will take each clip and run it through the FRC – Frame Rate Converter at 23.98 which will
create a new clip to use for editing.

Is this correct for something to be finished in HD?

    ok, we’re getting close.

But because our scriptnotes mostly say 40fps and 60fps (nothing was shot at 24), should we bring in our footage in at 23.98, 29.97 or 59.94?

And should our sequence preset be 23.98, 29.97 or 59.94?
