What I meant to say is that I’d rather get a new Macbook Pro than a new desktop. I have one of the first MacBook Pros and Motion 3 doesn’t run well on it. But I don’t want to buy a new Macbook Pro only to once again be frustrated when using Motion 3.

I have a MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz with 2 GB of Ram and RadeonX1600 graphics card. If I have a bunch of layers and effects, Motion 3 brings the computer to a standstill. It’s very frustrating. I was thinking of replacing this computer with either a newer MacBook or a desktop. If the newer MacBooks works well then I’d prefer that. Love to hear from other people if Motion 3 is working ok on the newer MacBooks. Ellen

yes. i seem to always have trouble with one particular layer on a project that I’m working on now. It’s a layer using the replicator. it’s very annoying. I’m thinking of going back to Motion 2.

Never mind. Since it was a layered PSD I had to open it in its own sequence. Then I was able to change its gamma.

Hmmm. When I look at the item properties, the area next to Gamma is blank. Control clicking doesn’t do anything. However, in Motion 3 (where I was having the same problem) I’m able to change the Gamma there from 1.8 to 2.2. I’m wondering why I can’t do this in FCP.

Thanks for your repsonse. Actually, I’m trying to make particles not replicating. In inspector under emitter tab I don’t see any box for random start
