    Thanks for your reply Brent. I understand what you are saying, but then on a finder window i can quickly and instantly review my footage in a preview window. I can flip between clips and they play instantly. I put the same clips in a Premiere sequence and they playback at 1 fps. I noticed in Davinci they also playback almost perfectly with no dropped frames (no LUTs). Are there known issues with Premiere’s playback?

  • If on a single clip, use “Clip->Video Options->Time Interpolation->Optical Flow”
    If on an entire sequence, when you are exporting, at the bottom of export window, choose “Optical flow” as the Time interpolation method.

    It isn’t perfect, and if you’re a pixel peeper you might notice some odd artifacts here and there, but in the normal course of most applications no one will be able to tell. Hope this helps.
