Okay, I checked the Adobe Store online and they do sell the documentation separately. CS3 Production Suite costs $50. There is no CS4 documentation for Production Suite available at the moment. Hopefully coming soon.

Hi, using Vista Home Premium 32bit and Vista Business 64bit both with CS3 right now. No problems. Will be upgrading to CS4 this month and will be putting that on Vista Business 64bit. I believe CS4 does not support XP64bit, best to go check the system requirements if you are hoping for XP64bit.

Thanks guys. I’m glad I asked as my assumption was wrong! Don’t assume anything, always best.

I’m going to see if I can order the manuals separately and report back.

I think that Adobe’s online videos and video materials, which are widely distributed, are great and seem to cover what’s in the manual rather well, but for some people like me, a written reference is very useful. I can read several hundred pages from a manual but I find it a strain to do it from a computer monitor, even a modern LCD.

    Hi,

In an edit where 25p was being mixed with 50p in PAL land for a 25p project, I took the P2 media that was 50p and imported it into a Premiere CS3 project with settings of 25p. The Premiere project being at 25p would render the 50p P2 media into 25p video. I then used Adobe’s export P2 Media which created a virtual P2 card of the converted 50p to 25p media. I then imported that virtual P2 card back into the Avid which digested it happily.

That’s one way to do it, if you’ve got a copy of Premiere CS3 or CS4 handy. I did try to find a way to do it on the Avid but didn’t have any luck. That was Media Composer 3.
