hi,
compiling program is called “framesplicer” and comes in a package deal with the framegrabbing program “framethief”
yes indeed it was set for 720 X 480 I simply get a slightly letterboxed frame with black at top & bottom. not so much as 16×9 but just a little bit.
D1 is not marked anywhere. framesplicer is not as tailored as after effects.
I chose the DV/DVCPRO-NTSC option. I could choose 4:3 aspect (which I did)
or could choose 16:9
could it possibly have something to do w the camera I use?
SONY PDX-10 which has a 1/4.7″ native 16:9 chip
have also had the same trouble w DSC inages which are supposed to be in perfect scale.

I am capable of cropping/scaling the quicktime movie that I get from dsc images (in after effects) down to proper size and THEN importing THAT movie into final cut, works fine …but takes a lot longer.

I currently do 3-d. don;t know much about dentistry though.

you used both?
external notebook drives or regular old external hard drive?
ever have any sort of troubles?
i know the notebook type is pricier (about 2x cost) but I carry a really heavy bulky overloaded backpack every single day. If (thats IF) these notebook drives are fast enough for digivideo, then I’d use them for doing a days work then back up to my biggerexternal drive each night.
