Thought I’d update this in case anyone else has the same question.

It doesn’t seem to matter that the .rdm subfolders, .rfc and .profile items are missing. I simply copied all the R3Ds into a new folder on my external drive. From there, I made _p.mov quicktime proxies using REDAlert. After import, drag them to a ProRes sequence and render.

I attempted working in a REDCODE sequence, but this was causing serious scaling on the slo-mo footage, and I was unable to add any basic effects (the entire clip would grey-out after render).

I imagine I wouldn’t have to render as much if I’d transcoded to ProRes, but it’s a bit late for that now and the _p.mov proxies seem to be working fine otherwise.

    Hope that helps someone!

  • Thanks, guys.
The XDCAM Transfer software worked and the BPAV’s are fine.
Thanks for directing me onto the right course.
    All the best,

I’m having the same problem. Both with lost smoothcam renders and the clips appearing unanalyzed. I’m exporting as self-contained QT and import back into FCP now as previously suggested.

I received the replacement fan today and did the swap. The replacement fan was initially quite loud, but is now purring along nicely. It is SOO much quieter now. I’m really relieved. Thanks Luke and Chris!

Thanks for the prompt response, Luke.
I will contact the Blackmagic Design office as you suggested.
    Much appreciated!
