yes i use the external firewire drive for media capture and render scratch—i mean it worked like a charm (bout 8 months) its just recently i have encountered drop frames–happens more often lately—the hard drive is 250g—i have 140g available.

yes i make sure i render everything—this has been a recent problem i would say the past few weeks. i mean i would have to eject my hard drive (lacie external) turn it off then back on again (about 3 or 4 times) then i would take a chance of dropping frames or not its like taking a gamble. maybe a system problem? thanks for reply.
